Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all
1. Lifelong learning measures – public resources and events open to the general public
1.1 Resources, both free and paid
ASE’s library provides free access to textbooks and courses on different topics . The access inside the library is open to the general public, but charged for those who are not part or study in the university.
Access to free courses is made available as a result of participation in different international projects (see, for example, here, the Oportunidance) or Social Enterprise in Rural Europe projects and resources). In addition, professors post materials on the websites of the disciplines or the websites of the master’s programs (see, for example, here or here). These are mainly specialized sites that allow the running of applications, not just the display of teaching materials.
Tutorials and materials for online education were developed by ASE specialist and could be used as a support for professors from secondary and tertiary levels of education which are facing the challenge of carrying out their entire activity in the online version.
The Department of Modern Languages and Business Communication provides free courses for learning foreign languages (Russian, French, German, Turkish, Arabic, Japanese, Chinese, Italian, Spanish)
Free access journals, allowing the share of latest scientific results in both Romanian and English (the Amfiteatru Economic Journal) or in English (such as the Journal of Economic Computation And Economic Cybernetics Studies and Research, Romanian Economic Journal, Journal of Accounting and Management Information Systems (JAMIS), etc.)

1.2 Events
The events organized by the Erasmus Student Network ASE Bucharest are focused on very actual topics concerning sustainability, climate change, migration or the future of education and are open to the general public.
The Student Entrepreneurship Society within ASE is hosting events that target topics on entrepreneurship, also with free access.
The conferences and business events hosted by ASE where the representatives of public institutions, private environment or foreign speakers are invited are also free to the general public.
ASE DEBATES – Starting from situations in everyday life, the “Debate Romania” project promotes dynamic debates with economic character, in a non-formal setting, where clear arguments are combined with convincing discourse.
SPEAK YOUR MIND – This project aims to improve students’ public speaking skills. The main objective of this project is that, at the end of the training session, the speech has the following characteristics: clarity and fluency, coherence and accuracy, correctness, logic and effectiveness.
ASEciti Magazine is the place where our students passionate about literature and media paint a new reality through words and an effective way of presenting the novelties in the university through the eyes of the students.
SmartFIN @ ISF vocational training seminar at ASE organized by the Institute of Financial Studies.
The “Education for Sustainable Development” meeting of the UNESCO Chair for Business Administration, which brought together over 100 participants in an online format, is dedicated to exchanging ideas, initiating and developing common projects with regard to the United Nations Goals for Sustainable Development.
2. Training events and activities beyond campus
2.1 Education programmes or vocational training open to the general public
ASE provides postgraduate training and continuous professional development programs with durations between 20 and 198 hours, vocational training programs with a duration of 48 hours and a study program called the Preparatory Year for Learning the Romanian Language for international students.
2.2 Activities beyond campus
We have different activities and organizations which extend the presence of ASE beyond the campus:
- “The ASE caravan” is a project in through which the university interacts with high schools in the region, presenting the educational offer or providing basic courses in economics.
- The Erasmus Student Network (ESN) ASE Bucharest is involved in different activities for Erasmus students and the young public, in general.
- The student associations within ASE are highly involved in the community and act on a voluntary student-run schemes.
- The Summer schools, which ASE usually organize (with the except of 2020, due to the COVID-19 restrictions) are addressed to the general public and high schools’ students, supporting them in gaining entrepreneurial skills or learning and improving foreign languages (ASE organized, for example, the Summer School of Entrepreneurship and French Language, the Summer School “Entrepreneurship and German Language, the Summer School „How to Manage Change – The Digitisation Revolution” back in 2019).
- Contests for pupils in high schools with economic profile is another activity in which ASE is involved, although it was on stand-by due to COVID-19 restrictions.
- ASE participated in the “European Researchers’ Night 2020“. This edition was organized exclusively online and involved communities from 18 cities in Romania. The program offered by ASE included the following workshops: “Innovative approaches to the teaching process – the use of (managerial) games in the teaching process” (an interactive workshop conducted by the Faculty of Management, to contribute to the acquisition of new teaching skills); “ABC of financial literacy” (which aimed to highlight the usefulness of literacy in a world where financial products are constantly diversified, the workshop being supported by the Faculty of Finance and Banking); “What can we eat from the balcony?” – a workshop of the representatives of the Faculty of Agri-Food and Environmental Economics, intended for all persons interested in a healthy diet, with fresh fruits and vegetables, grown in their own balcony.
Whenever necessary, consultancy could be provided on both planned programme and ad-hoc basis in the case of each organization acting under ASE or the projects developed by ASE specialists.
The development of different career workshops with company specialists or training and educational visits.
3. Policies ensuring lifelong access learning
Through its activities, targeted groups and stakeholders, ASE has already demonstrated and is prone to further guarantee that access to lifelong learning is accessible to all. The principle of non-discrimination to which ASE subscribes state clearly that within ASE, any form of discrimination is prohibited based on: gender, sexual orientation, genetic characteristics, age, nationality, race, colour, ethnicity, religion, political option, social origin, disability, family status or responsibility, union activity. The principle is inscribed in both the Internal Regulation and the ASE Charter.
